About Quilt Co
Quilt Co was formed by a small group of passionate quilters from the Ottawa area in 1993 with the intention of sharing their love for their art. The guild maintains a small membership to maintain an intimate forum for sharing the excitement of quilting and to support each other as friends.
Monthly meetings and informal get-togethers assemble this cast of career professionals and homemakers. Annual programs and workshops include such projects as challenges, block and fabric exchanges, and group work. Occasional weekend retreats sometimes become more about food and talking than quilting.
Charitable projects have raised funds for women's shelters and breast cancer research, and include quilts donated to Project Smile, a charity for children with cancer.
In 2001, Quilt Co presented The Hospice at May Court with lap quilts, colour co-coordinated for each of its ten bedrooms, and in 2006 a percentage of its proceeds from the 2006 Quilt Show.
Quilt Co is a haven to come together as friends and mentors for support and encouragement in all aspects of its members' lives.
